Holds regularly meetups and events and publishes blog posts to keep their developer community engaged. Have begun monetizing some of their APIs, including a payments request API that allows businesses to offer text channels for customer payments. API calls are sold on a sliding scale depending on number of calls per month, with discounts for higher volume. Has divided API program into two streams: PSD2 APIs and Premium APIs. Around the globe, many banks are opening APIs because they are required to do so by regulations. But a leadership group is emerging that is going beyond the essentials and beginning to leverage open APIs as a new revenue stream and to reorient towards a platform model that exposes bank functionalities to ecosystem partners. A range of promising practices that can help banks reorient towards a platform mindset are becoming evident. The majority of open banking platforms do not publicly announce their pricing strategies, but it is clear that leaders are establishing their digital rails in a way that will make this possible in future.
